KimDoug160.jpgSummer 2008: The 8th year of free, outdoor concerts at Waterford’s historic Old Town Hall starts June 26 and runs to August 28. In 2001, Kim Moverley, Stephen Hogg and a few friends set out to raise awareness and funds for the restoration of the Town Hall by holding weekly concerts in front of the building. From humble beginnings with performances staged from the back of an old Dodge pickup truck, the event has grown to an 11 concert series featuring over 100 performers and artists and drawing audiences from 125-250 each Thursday evening throughout the Summer.

Even though these concerts are presented by volunteers, the Folk Club does incur some expenses and our goal is to raise both awareness and funds for the ongoing work at the Town Hall. This year, the OTHFC is extremely grateful to our Summer Concert Series Sponsors who are generously supporting our efforts.

Fall-Winter 2008-2009: Our Sunday afternoon Open Mic sessions are held on the first Sunday of each month from October through May, OTHFC presents an Open Mic event from 2 PM to 5 PM. These informal concerts provide an opportunity for both budding and seasoned musicians, singers and songwriters to perform for the public and for other performers.

The event is not just for performers, though. The general public can enjoy a relaxed "grab bag" concert in our accoustically and architecturally superb auditorium. Admission is only $3 and kids are free.
